The YUMI ESSENTIALS Owner’s Story

I am Ayumi Takeuchi, the owner of YUMI ESSENTIALS. I immigrated to the United States from Japan in 1999. When I first arrived in the United States, I thought that exercising and eating healthy was enough. But in my 40s, I had a health scare and fell ill to Sepsis and autoimmune disease. I received a poor prognosis, but after an extensive stay in the hospital receiving rigorous treatment, I bounced back. Since then, I completely changed how I view health and wellness. Ignorance of my health needs was not bliss. I realized that health is not a given; it needs to be consciously maintained every day. 

 

In 2015, I was once again challenged by unforeseen circumstances: a divorce. 

My mental well-being began to decline, and I sought a counselor. I had an immense amount of stress, fear something I had never previously struggled with, and could not eat and not sleep most nights. Divorce made me thoughts all value of life was nothing and lost myself. In the same time, I had to reconsider that how can I make a life in the USA. After suffering through the intense, harsh, and debilitating antibiotic regimen I received following my sepsis and autoimmune scare, I wanted to find out how I could heal my mind using safe, natural alternatives. My doctor mentioned that CBD may provide me with that relief I so desperately needed.

 

I purchased countless CBD products. The stores I had to go into were…. The people selling me the CBD ….   I could never find a brand that provided me with both the positive effects that I was looking for, coupled with premier and transparent suppliers and a great taste. Little did I know that the countless hours spent trying mediocre products would be the beginning of an incredible journey.

 

In 2020, due to the global changes caused by COVID-19 Pandemic, I once again was confronted with a decline in my own physical and mental health. This time around, however, I wondered how many people had my experience of going from the privilege of not having to think about their health, to suddenly being consumed by worries of their own and their family’s health.
